Up line traffic was restored, and efforts are underway to restore the Down line traffic. Additionally, two long-distance trains, 12123 (CSMT-PUNE) and 11009 (CSMT-PUNE), were diverted via DIVA-PNVL-LNL-PUNE on July 31st, 2024, departing at 17:10 hrs and 17:50 hrs, respectively.

The Punjab Mail, originally called the Punjab Limited, began its journey in 1912 and has undergone significant changes throughout its history, including the addition of air conditioning and the conversion to diesel and electric traction. Today, the Punjab Mail runs on electric traction, covers a distance of 1,930 km between Mumbai and Firozpur Cantonment, and has an occupancy rate exceeding 250%.
