The base kitchen will be operated by RK Associates & Hoteliers Private Limited, which also manages base kitchens in other stations in Jharkhand. The facility has separate sections for vegetarian and non-vegetarian food preparation, as well as a dedicated section for parathas. The kitchen is air-conditioned and equipped with chimneys and hygiene facilities. The establishment of base kitchens is part of the Indian Railways' plan to eliminate pantry cars from trains, aiming to improve the quality and hygiene of food served to passengers. The base kitchen in Dhanbad will initially serve 12302 Howrah Rajdhani Express and 12314 Sealdah Rajdhani Express.
