A proposal will soon be prepared by the Ambala Division and sent to headquarters. Currently, there is only one direct train between Haridwar and Katra, the Hemkunt Express, often leaving passengers without seats. The demand for a Vande Bharat train on the Chandigarh-Shirdi route stems from the increasing passenger numbers and limited availability on the existing train, resulting in waiting tickets. Ambala Cantt railway station currently operates 10 Vande Bharat Express trains. These trains have increased passenger traffic, with approximately 600-700 passengers travelling daily from Ambala. This has also resulted in an additional income of ₹10-15 lakh for the railway. The number of passengers is expected to increase in the coming days. Officials report receiving numerous requests from passengers regarding train operations to religious sites. Proposals for a Chandigarh-Shirdi and Haridwar-Katra Vande Bharat service will soon be submitted to headquarters to provide passengers with enhanced convenience.

Other train delays included the Lucknow-Chandigarh Express (train number 12231) arriving at 11:06 AM instead of 10:05 AM and the Lucknow Junction-Chandigarh Express (train number 15011) arriving at 3:34 PM instead of 2:55 PM. Sampark Kranti Express was delayed by 7 hours, Hazur Sahib Nanded-Amb Andaura Super Fast Express by 6 hours, and Goa Sampark Kranti Express by 2 hours. At the Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport, one flight was cancelled and seven others were delayed due to fog. Most of the delayed flights originated or were destined for Delhi. Vistara flight UK-706 from Delhi was delayed by 55 minutes, Indigo 6E-2196 from Delhi was delayed by 44 minutes, and Indigo 6E-2162 from Delhi was cancelled. Indigo 6E-6281 departed late by 3 hours for Delhi from Chandigarh, and another Indigo 6E-2193 departed late by 2 hours for Delhi. The flight operators cited delays at Delhi airport as the reason for the disruptions. Other flights arriving late at Chandigarh included Indigo 6E-7407 from Jaipur (53 minutes), Vistara UK-657 from Bengaluru (55 minutes), and Indigo 6E-6244 from Ahmedabad. In response to the foggy conditions, the UT police and the District Road Safety Committee emphasized safety measures for residents and discussed the installation of traffic police assistance booths and the improvement of pedestrian crossings.
