These trains were used by commuters for daily travel to cities like Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Bathinda, and Saharanpur. While long-distance mail and express trains are being operated on alternative routes, commuters are demanding the resumption of some daily trains on alternative routes to ease their daily travel.

In addition, vendors have been ordered to sell food and beverages at fixed rates, with penalties for overcharging. Several train services were cancelled or partially cancelled, including: Train No. 04501 (Haridwar-Una Himachal), 12903 (Nizamuddin), 14661 (Delhi), 12715 (Sachkhand Express), 14735 (Bathinda), 14526 (Bathinda), and 15211 (Janseva) were cancelled in Ambala. Several other trains were also partially cancelled and restarted at various stations. The farmers stated that they will continue their protest until their demands are met, stating that they understand this won't be a quick victory and they're committed to increasing their strength. The protest saw women, farmers and farmers' organizations participate in the demonstrations. The farmers have called for a peaceful demonstration, urging the public to avoid traveling during the protest hours. Despite the protest being peaceful, some trains were canceled and rerouted, causing inconvenience for commuters. The demonstration resulted in passengers being stranded at stations and being forced to seek alternative transport options. The police have been deployed at stations to maintain order. Notably, the protest has not been affected by the model code of conduct implementation, which usually restricts demonstrations during election season.
