The operating department is neglecting these special trains, leading to delays of up to 22-24 hours, with some trains like the 03418 Malda Town Special being delayed by 23-24 hours and the 01666 Kar train delayed by 11 hours. ट्रेनों से 70-80% तक लेट हैं। यात्री खुद को ठगा हुआ महसूस कर रहे हैं क्योंकि उन्हें इन लेट स्पेशल ट्रेनों के लिए 15-20% ज़्यादा किराया देना पड़ रहा है। इसका कारण यह है कि सामान्य ट्रेनों को समय पर चलाने के लिए, स्पेशल ट्रेनों को देरी की जा रही है, और ये ट्रेनें स्टेशन पर रुक जाती हैं, जिससे इनकी पंक्चुअलिटी 50% से कम हो गई है। इस वजह से, यात्री सामान्य ट्रेनों में ही आरक्षण कराने की कोशिश करते हैं, भले ही उन्हें तत्काल या प्रीमियम किराया देना पड़े। ऑपरेटिंग विभाग इन स्पेशल ट्रेनों को अनदेखा कर रहा है, जिससे ये ट्रेनें 22-24 घंटे तक लेट हो जाती हैं। जैसे कि 03418 मलदा टाउन स्पेशल ट्रेन 23-24 घंटे लेट चल रही है, और 01666 कर ट्रेन 11 घंटे लेट है। इस वजह से यात्री बहुत परेशान हो रहे हैं और स्पेशल ट्रेनों की सीटें खाली जा रही हैं।
