October to December is usually a good season with festivities ( Puja, school vacation, Diwali, Chhath, end of the year and so on) I guess the challenge for all VB across India will be how the occupancy is from Jan till April ? Any idea as to what generally is considered a good occupancy % by railways. If it is less than 100%, I am sure they might have some benchmark. Is that 80% or so ?

The occupancy will low from Feb to April mid or end due to exams and no festivals and these VBs will purely depend on business travellers to whom it is intended for. Ideally the avg occupancy should be 75-80% when more travellers travel end to end realisation per seat will be more. But for some VB like this one where the occupancy drops midway by 50% @ 60% of run km then the occupancy on any day should be 90-100% from HWH to Tata section irrespective of seasons that too this being 8 coach carrying less passengers on high density route.

Mid- Spring to Starting of Autumn excluding the summer vacation part, is usually where only intended journeys take place in our country. Mostly eliminating leisure travels.
Split occupancy in most cases yield more earnings over end to end occupancy. Example, earnings collected will be more if someone travels from A to B then another one in same seat from B to C.
That's why end to end occupancy isn't the sole metrics for calculation.

I would expect an 8 coach VB to be full always, otherwise it's a failure in my view. If a route can't give patronage to 8 AC coaches, then just run a conventional ICE with say 6 AC coaches and rest as 2S/GN. That will invite tons of more passengers and carrying capacity ultimately increases.

Also, Kothsila and Chandil are just time wasting stoppages judging by the data. They should be removed.

With the new timings, this train is not remained suitable to go to Barbil side from Ranchi via Tatanagar. Earlier this train would fetch people to Tatanagar and then one could catch train 12021 Howrah - Barbil Janshatabdi Express from Tatanagar to go towards Barbil. Now this cannot be done due to very small time gap at Tatanagar between both the trains. People will again have to go to Chaibasa from Ranchi by bus and then catch train 08155 Tatanagar - Gua Passenger or train 12021 Howrah - Barbil Janshatabdi Express. A daily train from Barbil to Ranchi is very much the need of the hour.

For the VB, passengers from Tata going to Howrah, the previous time was slightly better.....the new timings though seem good for passengers from Ranchi slightly better

Ami sob kichu mathai rekhei 1 hr 10 mins. dhorechi. Full through chaliye dile to 55 mins e arame cover kore nebe even after considering PSRs at ANR and RKI. 20898 jedin via Adra diverted chhilo tokhon PRR-GRB 24 mins. e cover korechilo.
JOC-BURN-ASN er controlling CNI-TATA er theke far far better jekhane express train minimum 1.5 hrs lagiye dei 35km cover korte. Kintu VB seta max. days 33-35 mins. e cover kore. Aladai level er priority te chole.
Secondly, PRR theke completely DN main track e thakbe all the way till ASN.

Barsoi halt was mainly given for Raiganj although ironically Raiganj don't have any direct bus service to Barsoi. Rather Dalkhola would have been a better option to serve Raiganj since both Dalkhola and Raiganj are located on NH 12 and have frequent bus services

Raniganj has Shatabdi so Vande Bharat halt is not needed. Shatatabdi route is more important for Raniganj as it connects coal bearing towns
