The prototype of the Chalukyan architecture which also formed a basis of the later Hoysala structures with star shaped pedestals and soapstones along with lathe turned pillars, the Amruteshwar Temple at Annigeri is one of a standing royal beauties of the Western Chalukya architecture in the town of Annigeri and an important location for pilgrims, tourists and history and architectural enthusiasts . Highlight of the temple sculpture is a huge Ganesha carving om the top of the temple, which though broken is a major sculpture
