The local trains for Baidhyanath Dham/Dumka start from platforms 4 and 5, they're right next to platform 1. You can find a posh AC lounge on platform 1, while the retiring room is located outside the main station. All three stations here - Jasidih, Baidhyathdham, and Deoghar - provide retiring room services. But when I visited, only JSME was working, and no one was staying at the retiring room in Baidhyanath Dham. To book, you gotta go to counter 7 first and get your approval, then head to the 'Enquiry Office' to give your info. Lots of paperwork and shady stuff happening. The retiring room guy might even ask for a bribe when you're leaving. Prices here are jacked up everywhere, you can hardly get anything at MRP, except for a few spots, even in government shops. The only cool thing here is the IRCTC restaurant near the retiring room; they serve some good grub with a nice view by the lake near the rail station.

Technically, yahan teen stations hain = Jasidih, Baidhyathdham aur Deoghar mein retiring room facilities hain, par jab maine visit kiya tab sirf JSME operational tha aur kisi ne Baidhyanath Dham me stay nahi kiya. Booking approve karwane ke liye pehle counter number 7 pe jana padega phir 'Enquiry Office' me jaake details enter karna padta hai. Bahut saare paperwork hote hain aur corruption bhi involved hai. RR person/caretaker kabhi kabhi aapse rishwat bhi maang sakta hai jab aap permanently leave kar rahe hote hain apna room.

Yahan par MRP se zyada keemat hoti hai sab kuch except for kuch exceptions[Government owned shops me bhi]. Sirf achhi baat hai IRCTC restaurant retiring room ke paas jahan pe acha khana milta hai aur lake side view hai rail station ke paas.

Hey guys, here's the deal for peeps who wanna hit up Baba Baidyanathdham & Basukinath in one day. When you get to Jasidih in the AM, freshen up at the paid AC lounge on PF 1 (30 bucks per hour for a sofa & 60 bucks per hour for a recliner). Grab an auto/toto (20-25 bucks per person) to Deoghar (8 kms from Jasidih). Once you're at the temple, snag some flowers + gangajal & hop in the regular line. Might have to chill for 1.5 to 2 hrs (or more, especially on Mondays). If you're trying to speed things up, hit up a panda (priest) for a 250 bucks per person card to help you with the prayer (extra tip appreciated). This line will be around 30-45 mins. Inside the main temple, it's cramped & slippery. After your prayer, the panda might try to sell you on tying a ribbon between Mahadev & parvati temples (at least 551 bucks), your call. Now you're done with Baidyanathdham, get some brekkie & head to the bus stand or Jasidih/Deoghar Jn (Avoid Baidyanathdham station). Catch the Jasidih -Dumka DEMU at 1125 hrs to Basukinath. There's a shared auto to the temple (10 bucks per person). Basukinath is less hectic around noon (except Mondays). Not much else in Basukinath besides the temple, so you can hop on the Rampurhat - Jasidih special at 1450 hrs OR grab buses or wait for Godda- Ranchi Intercity or Dumka -Jasidih DEMU later on. Ek auto/toto lo (20-25 rs per bande) Deoghar ke liye (Jasidih se 8 kms door). Mandir pahunchne par, phool aur gangajal lo aur general line mein lag jao. Ismein 1.5 se 2 ghante lag sakte hain (ya aur bhi zyada, khas karke Mondays ko). Agar jaldi khatam karna hai, toh ek panda (pandit) se baat karo jo tumhe 250 rs ka card dega aur puja karne mein madad karega (dakshina extra). Yeh line lagbhag 30-45 mins legi. Main mandir ke andar zyada jagah nahi hai aur bhid bhi hai + slippery hai. Puja offer karne ke baad, panda tumhe Mahadev aur Parvati mandir ke beech ribbon bandhne ke liye kahega (minimum 551 rs.), agar chaho toh kar sakte ho. Ab, tum Baidyanathdham se khatam ho jaoge aur breakfast kar sakte ho aur fir ya toh bus stand ya Jasidih/Deoghar Jn ki taraf badh sakte ho (Baidyanathdham station mat jao). 1125 hrs par Jasidih -Dumka DEMU hai jo tumhe 1230 hrs tak Basukinath drop karega. Yahan se temple ke liye shared auto lo (10 rs. per bande). Dopahar mein, Basukinath relatively kam bhari hota hai aur tumhe bahut aaram se darshan mil sakta hai (Mondays ko chhod kar). Basukinath mein explore karne ke liye zyada nahi hai sirf mandir hai, toh tum Rampurhat - Jasidih special 1450 hrs par le sakte ho YA agar late ho to buses pakad sakte ho ya Godda- Ranchi Intercity ya Dumka -Jasidih DEMU ka intezar kar sakte ho shaam mein. Agar tum Deoghar mein ek aur din ruk rahe ho, toh Trikut hills, Tapovan, Navlakha mandir, wagairah explore kar sakte ho. Koi bhi sawal ho toh pooch lo. Trip ka maza lo.
