As of now nearest railhead to BANAGANAPALLE Until its own railway station becomes operational in the YA-NDL line that's being laid. 21 kms by road and you have ample buses.
Banaganapplli is Famous for 3 things.
----------------------------------
1. Banginappalli. Now you all know what is Banginapalli is famous for. Mangoes. Come summer there would be freight trains in Betamcerla lining up to export
...
it all over the india and abroad. Pic 1 & 2: Wikipedia link to Banaganapalli mangoes & Verrabrahmendra swamy pic. click here
--------------------------
2. Pothuluri Veera Brahmendra Swamy's place for most of his life. The great saint of 17th century from India who's "Kalagnanam" meaning to "Knowledge(Predictions) of time (future)" is very famous even now and has many comparison's with Nostradomous's assumptions. This is where who wrote Kalagnanam. He was the one who predicted that as the world closes in towards the end of Kaliyug, widow would rule India. (Indira Gandhi & then Sonia Gandhi). People who put colors on their faces (Actors) would also throne to power. (NTR, MGR & Jayalalitha). And many more which have already become reality.
-------------------------------
3. Banaganaplli nawab's palace. You might not know this. But you would know it if I say "ARUNDHATI FORT" (Telugu movie in which it was shown as Gadwal fort but actually is Banaganapalli Nawab's palace). Pic 3: click here

yummy...Chennai's ever-favorite mango variety, the "Banganapalli," more than our own Salem mangoes. Thanx AP for treating us with this beloved variety.

Betamcherla is famous for Marble stone (Lime stone exports & imports)... You can find find too many quarries along the rail track.... We call it betamcherla marble just like rajasthan marble....two times cheaper than the Rajasthan and hence would be used vastly by the middle & lower middle class people vastly for the flooring purposes. One can order to transport using the freight trains.... but only in bulk quantities. Or you can use the road transport for household purposes.
