IO/WB Amitesh Kumar stated that the railway's Chief Administrative Officer inspected the project and found some encroachments remaining. He indicated that the District Magistrate and the State Authority have been asked to remove these obstructions. Future plans include running capital and superfast express trains on this route.

Supaul, Saraygarh, Raghopur, Lalitgram, Narpatganj, and Forbesganj before reaching Jogbani. After reaching Jogbani, the train will change numbers and travel to Patna via Forbesganj, Saraygarh, Nirmali, Jhanjharpur, and Darbhanga. It will then return to Jogbani from Patna and continue to Saharsa. The existing passenger train service between Saharsa and Lalitgram will be extended to Forbesganj. The bypass at Saraigarh will be 5.5 km long and will eliminate the need for engine reversal, saving time for trains traveling between Saharsa and Nirmuli.
