New train connections for Puducherry are also under consideration. The Minister praised the Puducherry government for achieving 100% target under Jal Jeevan Mission and said the Central government is committed to the overall development of the Union Territory. He plans to return in two months for further discussions on railway and water projects.

Minister ne Puducherry me chalu railway projects ke baare me bhi bataya, jisme ₹93 crore me Puducherry railway station ka redevelopment kaam aur Karaikal and Mahe me aise hi kaam karne ka plan hai. Unhone bataya ki UT me railway lines ka electrification kaam pura ho chuka hai aur August ke baad AFT ground ke paas railway overbridge banane ka kaam shuru ho jaayega. Puducherry ke liye new train connections pe bhi kaam chal raha hai. Utilising other zone trains inside Tamilnadu has become a norm in SR. Though no train is run by SR in MS SA route, this CR is running.
Other examples include SCR train in NCJ SBC, SWR train in SBC KIK, CR train in YPR TEN, SWR train in SBC MV, SWR train in SBC TN, SWR and CR trains in YPR PDY routes. No SR train in these routes but other zones are running trains inside TN area!!!
