Commuters like Sasi Margret, a resident of Tiruvallur, and Arumugham, an employee at a private company, have to rely on expensive auto-rickshaws or private buses to reach the station. The Federation of Tiruvallur District Railway Passengers Association highlights the need for improved bus services, as over 1.69 lakh commuters utilize the station daily. TNSTC (Villupuram) currently operates only one town bus making two trips from the station to the terminus, with a private bus also operating on the route. The situation is expected to improve after the shift to the Central bus terminus, currently under construction near the Collectorate.
