to Titagarh in August 2023, will be deployed on the 39.22 km Red Line alongside existing Hyundai Rotem trains. They will be manufactured domestically in Titagarh's Uttarpara facility, near Kolkata, and stored at the Gyaspur Depot until the new Indroda Depot in Gandhinagar is completed. Titagarh has previously worked on Pune and Surat Metro projects, and is also assembling 204 coaches for Bangalore Metro. These extensions were approved by the Maharashtra state government in March 2024 with a budget of ₹3,756.58 crore. The design consultants will create and propose alternative designs for all civil, architectural, building services, electrical, and mechanical works associated with these stations. The contract, awarded in July 2023, has a duration of four years and a budget of ₹2.36 crore. The LKT Engineering – FP Project Management JV bid was disqualified. The stations on the Vanaz – Chandni Chowk extension are Kothrud Bus Depot and Chandni Chowk. The Ramwadi – Wagholi extension includes Viman Nagar, Somnath Nagar, Kharadi Bypass, Tulaja Bhavani, Ubale Nagar, Upper Kharadi Road, Wagheswar Temple, Wagholi, Siddharth Nagar, Bakori Phata, and Vitthalwadi. The locations of these 13 stations are subject to change based on satellite imagery available in 2026. This is the third and final design consultancy contract for Pune Metro’s Phase 1 Extension project, further expanding the city's public transport network.

TBM Kaveri has successfully completed its tunnel drive and achieved a breakthrough at the Adyar shaft, navigating through mixed geological conditions. The machine encountered hard rock formations below parts of the Adyar River, requiring 65 cutter head interventions. TBM Adyar is currently 277 meters away from the Adyar shaft and is expected to reach its destination by November 2024. The successful operation of both TBMs is crucial for meeting the project timelines and ensuring the efficient construction of the metro network.
