The project has received approvals from the National Board of Wildlife (NBWL) and the Union environment ministry, with conditions attached. The NBWL has mandated a study by the Wildlife Institute of India (WII) to assess the impact on wildlife, but WII has said it will be conducted before, during, and after the construction, despite the NBWL's requirement for it to be completed before construction starts. UTR is still not too well connected. For eg, to reach LKO station, one had probably need to change twice from UTR. It lies in the residential area and of course, no scope of metro there. In comparasion, even Mohanlalganj has easier access to public transport since despite lying at the edge of LKO, it it next to the main road.
