The second road bridge has faced delays due to a 2020 construction girder collapse that killed two engineers, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the removal of the Chinese construction company due to Indo-China border tensions. The project has received an initial allocation of Rs 550 crore from the Central government and includes the construction of 3 km of approach road on both sides.
