ready by March. The Indian Railways has assigned Jamalpur the first trial workload for tower car manufacturing. The factory's Crane Shop employees will start production as soon as materials arrive. The target is to complete the production of around 10 DETCs by the end of the year. The DETC is a self-propelled unit used for inspecting and maintaining overhead electric transmission equipment along electrified routes. It can also be used for repairing breakdowns and damaged OHE equipment, and can travel at a speed of 110 kmph. The DETC is equipped with advanced features such as a seating area and kitchen for supervisors and attendants, a high-speed dual-traction power pack, a control cubicle, a platform, an observation dome, a pantograph for overhead cable testing, a workshop, and equipment for clearing accident sites.
