They have rescued approximately 20 children from stations and trains in the past fortnight. The RPF has launched Operation Anti-Human Trafficking to combat this crime. The RPF plays a crucial role in preventing human trafficking due to its nationwide presence. Victims are transported by train to different locations where they are forced into sexual exploitation, prostitution, forced labor, forced marriages, domestic work, begging, and even organ transplantation. They are also used to transport drugs. Women and children are the most vulnerable victims.

Due to the derailment of the Dibrugarh Express between Motiganj and Jhilahi stations on the Barabanki-Gorakhpur rail section, the routes of 22 trains were diverted. The Northeast Railway administration released helpline numbers for major stations immediately after the derailment of the 15904 Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express.
