progressed. This year, the project has been allocated 910 crores. Currently, only the Narmada bridge at Mortakka, the new Omkareshwar Road station building, and the Mahu-Patalpani broad gauge line are under construction. The most time-consuming part of the project will be the construction of bridges, tunnels, and culverts in the hilly section. Last year, the railway only issued a tender for one tunnel between Mahu and Balwada, which hasn't even started. In 2021, RITES (Rail India Technical and Economic Services Limited) conducted a survey for the Mahu-Sanawad broad gauge line, which was completed in June 2023. The new alignment for the Mahu-Sanawad broad gauge line will divert the track from Patalpani, passing through Badhia, Beka, Kulthana, Rajpura, and reaching Chorl, with stations being constructed at these locations. A new station will also be constructed in Chorl. The line will merge with the old meter gauge alignment near Mukhtyara Balwada, approximately six kilometers prior. The 71 km rail section will have 21 tunnels, large and small. Due to the hilly terrain, 36 major bridges, 76 minor bridges, 12 underpasses, and overpasses will be constructed. The project has received 2498 crores in the last three years, with 888 crores in 2022, 700 crores in 2023, and 910 crores in 2024. Despite this, the progress of the project remains slow. A 900 meter long bridge is being constructed over the Narmada River, starting in January 2023 at a cost exceeding 100 crores. The old bridge has been demolished, and 16 pillars are being built for the new bridge, with the maximum height reaching 35 meters. The completion of this bridge is targeted for September of this year. The Mahu-Sanawad broad gauge line project is to be completed in two phases: Mahu-Balwada and Balwada-Barwaha. 21 tunnels are to be constructed between Mahu and Balwada, including a 4.1 km long tunnel for which a tender has been issued, while the rest remain pending. The completion of the project is targeted for 2026. Upon completion of the project, Indore will have direct connectivity to Maharashtra and Telangana. Currently, one has to travel through Ratlam, Bhopal, or Itarsi to reach Mumbai. Once completed, trains from Indore to Maharashtra and Telangana will pass through Khandwa. Khemraj Meena, PRO, Ratlam Division, stated that the Mahu-Sanawad broad gauge line project will be completed with priority and tenders will be issued soon, starting work on the ground.

Varshe 2021 mein Ratlam mandal dwara RITES (Rail India Technical and Economic Services Limited) se survey karwaya gaya, jo June 2023 mein pura hua. Mahu-Sanawad broad gauge line ke new alignment ke anusar track Patalpani se divert ho jaayega, jo Badhia, Beka, Kulthana, Rajpura hote hue Chorl pahuchega. In sabhi jagah par station banaye jaayenge. Chorl mein bhi new station banega. Mukhtyara Balwada ke kareeb 6 km pehle line ko purani meter gauge line ke alignment ke saath jod dega. 71 km lambe rail khand mein chhoti-badi 21 tunnel banayi jaayengi. Pahadi ilaka hone ke karan 36 major bridge, 76 minor bridge, 12 under bridge, over bridge banayenge. Teen saalon mein approve hue 2498 crore rupay. Mahu-Sanawad broad gauge project ke liye varshe 2022 mein 888 crore, 2023 mein 700 crore rupay aur 2024 mein 910 crore rupay approve hue hain. Isi tarah in teen saalon mein project ke liye 2498 crore rupay mil chuke hain. Bawjood vikas ki raftaar kaafi kam hai. Narmada nadi par ban raha 900 meter lamba bridge. Narmada nadi par 900 meter lamba bridge banaya jaana hai. January 2023 mein is bridge ka kaam 100 crore rupay se zyada ki lagat se shuru hua hai. Ismein purane bridge ko nasht kar diya gaya hai. Paas mein hi ban rahe new bridge mein 16 pillar taiyaar kiye ja rahe hain. Pillar ki adhiktam unchaai 35 meter tak ki hogi. Is bridge ka kaam isi varshe September tak pura karne ka lakshya nirdharit kiya gaya hai. Do hisson mein taiyaar hona hai project. Rail afsaron ke anusar Mahu-Sanawad broad gauge line project ko do hisson Mahu-Balwada aur Balwada-Barwaha mein pura kiya jaana hai. Mahu-Balwada ke beech 21 tunnel banayi jaani hai. Inmein sabse badi 4.1 km lambi tunnel ka tender jaari ho chuka hai, baki ke tender ab tak jaari nahin hue hain. Is project pura karne ka lakshya 2026 tak rakha gaya hai. Yeh hoga fayda. Is project ke pura hote hi Indore ki seedhi connectivity Maharashtra, Telangana se ho jaayegi. Abhi Ratlam, Bhopal ya Itarsi hokar Mumbai jaana padta hai. Project pura hone par Indore se Khandwa hokar train Maharashtra, Telangana ke liye aa-ja sakegi. Khemraj Meena, PRO, Ratlam Division ne kaha hai ki Mahu-Sanawad broad gauge line project ko priority ke saath pura kiya jaana hai. Jald hi tender jaari kar jameeni star par kaam shuru ho jaayega.

Soni has raised concerns about the current track crossover/track connect work, highlighting that only platform 3 will be available for trains and goods trains travelling between Bhusaval and Itarsi via Khandwa. He has recommended that the track connect and crossover be designed in a way that allows trains from Bhusaval and Itarsi to access platforms 4 and 5 as well.

Unhone bataya hai ki Bhusaval aur Itarsi se Khandwa aane jaane wali trains ke liye sirf platform 3 hi available hoga. Unhone suggest kiya hai ki track connect aur crossover ko aise design kiya jaaye ki Bhusaval aur Itarsi se aane wali trains platform 4 aur 5 pe bhi ja sake.
