The inauguration ceremony at Lakhimpur railway station was to feature Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Ajay Mishra Teni as the chief guest, but he did not attend. His representative, Arvind Singh, attended in his place. Several other dignitaries, including Rajya Sabha MP Ramji, city MLA Yogesh Verma, and Legislative Council member Anoop Gupta, were also absent. The Municipal President, Dr. Ira Srivastava, was then made the chief guest. Other elected officials and railway officers present at the event removed the veil from a plaque to mark the foundation laying ceremony. The chief guest suggested building an underground parking lot if land is available and asked railway officers to create selfie points. Anil Yadav, BJP vice-president, said the Lakhimpur railway station would resemble major cities like Noida and Delhi. Others present at the event included District Bar Association President Avadhesh Singh, EDPPM of Railway Lucknow Division RR Kanaujia, Senior Engineer from Lucknow Mansi Mittal, and Lakhimpur Railway Station Superintendent Brijlal Ram.

However, this week, the Express train has been arriving late. On Thursday, it reached Lakhimpur at 11:34 AM, about 1 hour and 15 minutes delayed. To accommodate the Express, the passenger train coming from Lucknow was held at Hargaon station, resulting in a 40-minute delay for the passenger train. These delays caused inconvenience for daily commuters and office workers, forcing some to resort to buses and private vehicles to reach their workplaces on time.

Thursday ko yeh train nirधारित समय के karib सवा ghanta late 11.34 baje Lakhimpur pahunchi. Lucknow se a rahi passenger train ko Hargaon station par rok kar Express ko nikala gaya. Is wajah se passenger train bhi karib 40 minutes deri se pahunchi.
