The feasibility study is being conducted by a panel of 11 project management consultancies, who will submit quotations. The lowest bidder will be awarded the project. In Bhagalpur, the proposed metro line would run from Sabour to Nathnagar. The Patna Metro project is currently underway, and is expected to become operational by next year. In addition to Patna, the Bihar government has also decided to extend the metro network to Patna Airport and Patna Sahib.

Patna ke alawa rajya ke chaar shaharon mein bhi metro project mein tej laayi ja rahi hai. November tak sambhavna (feasibility) report ke baad January tak DPR ka kaam kara lene ki yojana hai. Iske sath Patna airport aur Patna Sahib tak metro vistar ke liye DPR ko lekar jaldi hi agency Rights se anurodh kiya jaayega. Patna mein metro nirman ke liye Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) madad kar rahi hai. Iski madad se rajhdhani mein do corridor ka kaam chal raha hai. Sarkar ki yojana corridor-2 pe Malahi Pakri se ISBT Bariya ke beech priority ke aadar par metro shuru karna hai. Priority corridor pe JICA fund se kaam hone par 2026 tak metro parichaalan shuru ho pata. Rajya sarkar ka prayas hai ki alag fund se kuch kaam karke July 2025 tak metro shuru kar diya jaaye. Iske liye nirman agency DMRCIL se nagar vikas vibhag ki baatchee ho chuki hai. Pillar nirman ho chuka hai. Track bichane ka kaam hona hai. Sarkar ki yojana metro vistar ki bhi hai. Yojana ke tahat Patna airport aur Patna Sahib gurudwara ko bhi metro se jodne ka prastav hai. Nagar vikas vibhag is par bhi jaldi kaam shuru karega. DPR banane ke liye jaldi hi Gurugram sthit agency Rights se anurodh kiya ja raha hai. Gurugram ki agency Rights karegi adhyayan Patna ke alawa Gaya, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur aur Darbhanga mein metro shuru karne ki taiyaari hai. Abhi iski sambhavna (feasibility) ka adhyayan kiya ja raha hai. Gurugram sthit agency Rights ko iski zimmedari saunpi gayi hai. Is par saat crore rupees kharch honge. Survey ke baad Rights ko char mah mein report deni hai. Rights ko metro parichaalan ki feasibility, comprehensive mobility plan aur alternative analysis report taiyar ki jani hai. Report aane ke baad DPR banane ka kaam shuru hoga. Yah bhi January tak poora kar lene ka lakshya hai. Uske baad kaarya praarambh karne ki swikriti li jaayegi.

Government ka target hai ki yeh studies 2024 mein hone wale Assembly election se pehle complete ho jaayen. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar ki chair mein hui cabinet meeting mein, in shaharon mein metro service dene ka faisla liya gaya tha, kyunki in shaharon ki aabadi bahut tez se badh rahi hai, aur yeh education, health aur tourism ke liye bahut important hai. Dhanbad via two routes: Ranchi-Bhagalpur Vananchal Express (daily), and Ranchi-Godda Express and Tata Nagar-Godda Express (running thrice and once a week respectively). This new train will be the fourth connection between Dhanbad and Bhagalpur, potentially running via Jasidih, Jhajha, Kiul, and Jamalpur. Time estimates are being calculated for the route including Barkakana, Hazaribagh Town, Koderma, Bhandua, Gaya, and Kiul. The proposed train will pass through three zones (East Central, East and South Eastern Railways) and five divisions (Ranchi, Dhanbad, Asansol, Danapur and Malda Town) requiring cooperation for finalizing the schedule. The new train will directly connect Dhanbad with Hazaribagh Town, which is not currently serviced by any trains via or from Dhanbad. It will also offer an alternative route to Barkakana. The proposed timings for the new train through Dhanbad division are: 12:40 pm arrival at Dhanbad, 1:11 pm departure from Gomoh, 1:28 pm departure from Parasnath, 1:51 pm departure from Hazaribagh Road, 2:35 pm departure from Koderma, 4:11 pm arrival at Hazaribagh Town and 5:55 pm arrival at Barkakana.
