What do you all railfans think about this post? Please make sure to reply. So, the Patna Kota train stopping at Unnao is cool, but the one via Sultanpur doesn’t stop there. This train should stop at Unnao too. It’s a really important train connecting Bihar and Rajasthan through Uttar Pradesh, and the train that goes via Ayodhya has a good number of people getting on and off at Unnao. If the train going though Ayodhya stops at Unnao, it’s weird that the same train doesn’t stop there when it goes via Sultanpur, especially since it does stop at NSG-5 stations like Nihalgarh. Unnao is a big NSG-3 station, so it should definitely halt there.

Patna Kota jo Ayodhya se jaata hai, uska stoppage Unnao pe hai, par Patna Kota jo Sultanpur se jaata hai, uska stoppage nahi hai. Is train ka bhi Unnao pe stoppage hona chahiye. Bihar aur Rajasthan ko Uttar Pradesh ke through jodne wali yeh ek badi train hai aur Unnao se Ayodhya wale train pe achhi khaasi bheed chadhte utarte hain. Sultanpur wali train Nihalgarh jaisa NSG-5 station pe rukti hai, toh Unnao jaise bade NSG-3 station pe halt zaroori hai. Agar Ayodhya wali train ka halt na hota, toh koi baat nahi thi, lekin yeh ajeeb hai ki wahi train jab Ayodhya ke raste jaata hai toh Unnao pe rukti hai, par jab Sultanpur se jaata hai toh Unnao pe rukti nahi hai.

Yo, can someone break it down what's happening on the Lucknow Kanpur route?? Last night, I saw 2 engine reversals at Unnao Jn. And this morning, saw another one and just a few minutes ago spotted an Alco shunter locomotive at Unnao Junction. Now, the deal is, no trains start or end at Unnao. Let's say goods trains reversed at night, but what was that shunter locomotive doing there? Alco locomotives are out of operation and just used for shunting now. So, what was this locomotive up to here? It wasn't just moving around, it came from the down track, changed line, and went back on the up track. Looked like it was bringing a train from the yard to the platform. But there ain't no yard or train origination/termination at Unnao. Mostly, trains from LKO/LJN or Aishbagh (ASH) run towards Kanpur (CNB) route and goods trains coming from Moradabad are diverted here via Balamau to keep the main lines clear. And these goods trains are then diverted towards Raebareli (RBL)/Prayagraj (PYG) or Varanasi (BSB) heading east. Don't know why suddenly there were so many engine reversals yesterday. If anyone has any idea or guess, please reply🙏

Maine kal raat hi 2 engine reversal dekhe Unnao Jn pe.
Aur aaj savere ek aur engine reversal dekha aur abhi just kuch minutes pahele Alco shunter locomotive ko Unnao Junction pe dekha.

Ab baat ye hai ki Unnao se na to koi train originate hoti hai aur na hi terminate.
Chalo ek baar ko maan le ki raat me Goods Trains ka reversal hua hoga but ye jo maine Shunter locomotive dekha uska kya kaam tha?
Because Alco locomotives already operation se bahar ho chuke hai aur unka kaam ab sirf shunting krne ka hai. To ye locomotive idhar kya kr rha tha?
Aur ye locomotive sirf ghoom hi nhi rha tha balki pahele down track se aaya then line change Hui then up track pe wapas gya. Aisa laga jaise ye kisi train ko yard se plateform pe laaya ho. But Unnao me na hi koi yard hai aur na hi koi train ka origination/termination.

Mostly yaha LKO/LJN ya Aishbagh (ASH) se Kanpur (CNB) route ki train chalti hai aur Moradabad ki taraf se aane wali Goods trains ko via Balamau idhar divert kr diya jaata hai taaki main lines khaali rhe. Aur yaha se un goods trains ko bhi Raebareli (RBL)/Prayagraj (PYG)/Varanasi(BSB) ki taraf divert kiya jaata hai jo east direction me jaati hai.

Ab pata nhi achanak se kal ye itne saare engine reversal kyu ho rhe the.
