Lumding - Silchar Railway line , the life line of Barack Valley, Tripura, Manipur, & Mizoram, was inaugurated today by Hon'ble Minister of Railways Shri Suresh Prabhu in the presence of Chairman Railway Board , Shri AK Mittal along with other board members. The 210 km long line was opened for goods traffic today & will be providing seamless BG connectivity to Barack Valley of Assam & the rest of the country.
This project had been declared a national project in 2004 and has seen various ups and downs during its implementation including insurgency in the area and tough engineering challenges such as difficult geology & terrain.

I have seen some YDM4 pics and felt so happy to see such MG loco pics so closely. I never knew that I had fascination for such.
But, that's the end as I keep reading that they are gonna come to an end, I feel that such cultural heritage can be protected by keeping few lines as MG/NG.
Are there any more who feel the same way?
