A small but interesting story

face many difficulties as they need to travel almost 4 to 5 kilometres by foot to the nearest station.
Over the years we have put every effort in requesting government to make a railway station in our village but everything failed. Then something happened which gave us a ray of hope.
Lalu Prasad Yadav was railway minister at that time. His daughter Anushka got married to Haryana power minister's son. The village of this minister is not far from us.
One day we came to know that Lalu Yadav has come to that village for some function. Soon 40 to 50 villagers reached there and again requested the same.
Villagers said “now you are our relative and a railway minister, can't you do a small thing for the village ?”.The gravity of the situation was such that he had no option but to do something in this regard.
He said “I can't allocate fund for the station, I can only allow passenger trains to stop near your village that too on conditional basis”. Villagers said that will be enough.
After that railway official came and said they require around 5 lakhs rupees for the temporary arrangements. They also said that the station will initially be for one year, if a certain minimum number of tickets will be sold then only it will be made permanent.
Villagers collected 5000 rupees from every house and a temporary station was built. To achieve the target, some of the villagers bought double tickets even when they are traveling alone. Some bought ticket even when they did not travel anywhere.
We crossed the target way above as decided by railways. After one year railway returned our 5 lakh rupees, instead of returning rupees to every individual we renovated a small pond and traditional temple of our village.
I am writing this answer as I am waiting for a train at our railway station Tajnagar.
