The bypass at Saraigarh will be 5.5 km long and will eliminate the need for engine reversal, saving time for trains traveling between Saharsa and Nirmuli. The bypass at Lalitgram will be 1.5 km long and will benefit trains traveling between Nirmuli-Saharsa and Forbesganj-Jogbani by reducing the time spent on engine reversal.

Saraigarh, Khandwala stated that a significant development for the Kosi and Mithila regions is expected within two months. Trains will start running between Saharsa and Forbesganj, and then from Forbesganj to Darbhanga. He directed officials to fix toilet and drinking water facilities within 15 days. Khandwala also inspected the Forbesganj-Saharsa rail section and confirmed that train operations will commence soon, bringing multiple train services to the area. He assured that safety was a top priority and that the wait was almost over. Khandwala emphasized the strategic importance of the rail line for the border region and clarified its unrelatedness to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
