VCD fitted WAP-4 winks while hauling Shalimar- LTT Express through Phuleshwar station
.
.
Its not only human beings, but locos too, who winks when interested. Note the same happens at 00:10. VCD (Medha Vigilance Control Device) fitted 22635 WAP-4 of HWH shed honks, and cruises past Phuleshwar (Fuleshwar) station at an average speed through the Up Main line. Please don't mind. An EMU

was running ahead of it. And being a Kolkata- Mumbai Passenger (though name mentions it as an Express), it is made to run after the EMU. Other trains like Puri Duronto, Kandari Express and Coromandel Superfast Express used the Up Reverse line to blast past at over 100 km/hr. 18030 Shalimar (SHM)- Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) Express was running bang on time. The station falls on SER's Howrah- Kharagpur stretch.
The train uses the LTT- Kalyan- Manmad- Bhusaval- Akola- Badnera- Nagpur- Gondia- Durg- Raipur- Bilaspur- Jharsaguda- Rourkela- Tatanagar- Kharagpur- Santragachi- Shalimar route, and takes 38 hours 25 minutes to cover the 1947 kms with an irritating 81 halts enroute. The train is still popularly known as KURLA Express.
Giving me company on the trip was railfan Vivian Boye.

Deadly monster SRC WAP-4 goes crazy with a furious Puri Duronto Express!!!
.
.
On a cold winter evening, with the sun playing with the frosty fogs all around, almost 30 minutes late running 12277 Howrah (HWH)- Puri (PURI) A.C. DURONTO Express headed by a honking and deadly looking hunk 22337 SRC (Santragachi) shed WAP- 4 blasts through Phuleshwar (Fuleshwar) station on SER's HWH-

KGP stretch enroute at over 100 km/hr. The station is sandwiched between two busy level crossings, so the LP was bound to go crazy with the honking.
Very odd timings, and horrible old worn out coaches are the primary reasons for passengers for avoiding this train as much as possible. The coaches of this train are the ones which once belonged to the decommissioned Pune- Mumbai Shatabdi Express that used to exist 10 years back. Even while all the other trains plying between Santragachi/ Shalimar/ Howah/ Sealdah runs with waiting list (even Sealdah- Puri Duronto and Howrah- Puri Garib Rath), but this train always runs empty.
The train uses the Howrah- Kharagpur- Balasore- Cuttack- BVHubaneshwar- Khurdah Road- Puri route of SER/ ECoR.
