The district administration issued an orange alert for the Nilgiris and advised tourists to avoid visiting Ooty for three days due to the heavy rains. Repairs are underway to restore train services.

An earth slip has occurred between #Kallar – #Hillgrove railway stations of #NilgiriMountainRailway, obstructing traffic. Train No.06136 #Mettupalayam–#Udagamandalam train has been cancelled on 18.05.2024.
