इंदौर सहित आसपास के रेल प्रोजेक्ट (नई रेल लाइन, गेज कन्वर्जन, दोहरीकरण, इलेक्ट्रीफिकेशन) के लिए पर्याप्त बजट दिए जाने को लेकर पूर्व लोकसभा स्पीकर सुमित्रा महाजन ने रेल मंत्री पीयूष गोयल को पत्र लिखा। उन्होंने प्रोजेक्ट की मॉनिटरिंग के लिए सक्षम अधिकारी को इंदौर में पदस्थ करने की मांग भी की, ताकि तय समय में योजनाएं पूरी हो सकें। उन्होंने इंदौर-दाहोद, धार-छोटा उदयपुर, राऊ-महू के बीच अतिरिक्त लाइन, महू-खंडवा, फतेहाबाद-उज्जैन के काम में तेजी लाने अौर पर्याप्त बजट देने की मांग भी की।
