Tamil Nadu farmers heading to Varanasi to fight polls against PM Modi ejected from train, detained in Chengalpattu

A group of farmers from Tiruchirappalli, led by P Ayyakannu of Desiya Thennidiya Nadhigal Inaippu Sangam, boarded the Kanniyakumari-Banaras Kasi Tamil Sangam Express (train number 16367) on Friday, May 10th, 2024, to file nomination papers against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Varanasi. They had booked 120 seats, but only 36 were...

confirmed. Despite having RAC tickets, the farmers were told all tickets were canceled due to a technical snag and asked to deboard at the next station. They protested, pulling the emergency chain, and were deboarded at Thanjavur Junction. They were assured seats at Villupuram, but when no seats were allotted, they continued their protest. They were finally deboarded at Chengalpattu Junction and detained in a community hall. The farmers suspect this was a deliberate attempt to obstruct their journey. Railway officials claimed the S1 coach was disconnected at Kanniyakumari due to a technical snag, leading to the cancellation of the farmers' tickets. However, they managed to allocate some confirmed and RAC seats.

Tiruchirappalli se farmers, Desiya Thennidiya Nadhigal Inaippu Sangam ke P Ayyakannu ke leadership mein, Kanniyakumari-Banaras Kasi Tamil Sangam Express (train number 16367) pe Friday, May 10th, 2024 ko, Varanasi mein Prime Minister Narendra Modi ke against nomination papers file karne ke liye chale gaye. Unhone 120 seats book kiye the, lekin...

sirf 36 confirm hue. RAC tickets hone ke baavajood, farmers ko bataya gaya ki technical snag ki wajah se saare tickets cancel ho gaye aur unse next station pe utarne ko kaha gaya. Unhone protest kiya, emergency chain khincha, aur unse Thanjavur Junction pe utara gaya. Unhe Villupuram mein seats ka assurance diya gaya, lekin jab koi seats nahi mile, toh unhone apna protest jaari rakha. Aakhir mein, unhe Chengalpattu Junction pe utara gaya aur unhe ek community hall mein detain kar diya gaya. Farmers ka yeh maanana hai ki yeh unki journey ko rokne ki jaanboojh kar ki gayi ek conspiracy thi. Railway officials ka kehna hai ki technical snag ki wajah se Kanniyakumari mein S1 coach disconnect ho gaya, jisse farmers ke tickets cancel ho gaye. Lekin unhone kuch confirmed aur RAC seats allocate karne mein kaamyaabi hasil ki.
