The Railway Division has acknowledged the demand and stated that they have submitted a proposal to the Railway Board. This proposal, which has been pending since June 2023, includes the request for suburban status for the section. While the Railway Board has recently merged Daund Junction into the Pune Division, the passengers remain hopeful for a positive response to the EMU proposal, as the MEMU service is only temporary.
