Kateel urges Railway Minister to rescind order extending Bengaluru-Kannur express train to Kozhikode

Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has written to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw requesting the withdrawal of an order extending the Bengaluru-Kannur Express to Kozhikode. He also points out that Kozhikode is already served by another train, the Yeshwantpur-Kannur Daily Express, making the extension unnecessary. Mr. Kateel highlights the public's opposition to the extension and urges the Minister to consider the needs of his constituency.

train pehle se hi bahut popular hai aur long waitlists ke saath chalti hai. Unhone yeh bhi point kiya ki Kozhikode ko pehle se hi Yeshwantpur-Kannur Daily Express train serve kar rahi hai, isliye extension ki zarurat nahi hai. Mr. Kateel ne public ka is extension ke khilaf opposition bhi highlight kiya hai aur Minister se unke constituency ki jarooraton par dhyaan dene ka request kiya hai.

Instead of demanding cancellation of extension, concerned should demand a dedicated overnight train with full 22 coaches between MAQ and SBC.
