While the groundbreaking ceremony for these projects took place six months ago, construction of the new station building has yet to commence. Currently, only one train, the Lakshmi Bai Nagar-Yog Nagari Rishikesh Express, runs from Lakshmi Bai Nagar station. In the future, a dozen long-distance trains will be operated from this station. Platform 2 and 3 are being raised in height, and a shed is being built over the footbridge, expected to be completed by February. The platform cover shed is being extended, and amenities like Wi-Fi, CCTV cameras, and lifts are being added. A new two-story station building is to be constructed behind the current parking area towards Bhagirathpura, but work on this project has not started yet. The existing three platforms at the station are being augmented with two new platforms on the Bhagirathpura side. According to railway officials, these additional platforms will be used to operate some long-distance trains departing from Indore. This development is part of the Indian Railways' Amrit Station Scheme to modernize Lakshmi Bai Nagar station, upgrading existing passenger facilities.
