This led to a decline in passenger numbers, forcing many to seek alternative modes of transport. However, with the return to the original fare structure, passenger train usage has revived. The minimum fare has been restored to ₹10, similar to the pre-COVID era. The increase in fare during the special train period had discouraged passengers from utilizing these trains, but now with the reduced fare, passenger numbers have surged again.
