Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off a new MEMU train on the Sindri to Tatanagar Badampahar route in Dhanbad on Friday. This train will also benefit passengers traveling from various Odisha stations to Tatanagar to catch connecting trains to Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Howrah, and Ranchi. The inauguration ceremony included prominent figures such as BJP district president Sudhanshu Ojha, former MLA Menka Sardar, district council president Bari Murmu, and former Odisha MLA Prahlad Purti. Railway officials including ADDRM of Chakradharpur Ajit Kumar, ACM Baban Kumar, Vineet Kumar, Station Director Raghuvansh Kumar, CCI Anjani Rai, and Station Superintendent OP Sharma were present. Currently, two local trains from Tatanagar and one from Rourkela run to Badampahar, along with weekly trains from Shalimar and Rourkela. Following the inauguration, dozens of railway staff, including those from Haldipokhar Halt, boarded the train for a ride to Odisha. Residents are excited about the new train service. A former MLA has requested the railway to add a train service departing from Badampahar at 6 AM, which could benefit thousands of villagers.
