Region dwara fund kiya gaya hai, India ke northeast states ke liye Chittagong port tak direct access deta hai. India Bangladesh se hota hua Kolkata se Tripura, Mizoram, aur south Assam tak through trains bhi shuru karne ki plan bana raha hai, jo current route se zyada chota hai. Iske alawa, India Bangladesh me do aur railway projects ko fund kar raha hai, jismein ek new broad-gauge line ka construction aur ek metre-gauge line ko dual-gauge me convert karna shamil hai.
