The 'Pitru Chhaya Express' aims to cater to people seeking to perform tarpan (ritual offerings) for their ancestors in Haridwar during Pitru Paksha. Another train, from Mumbai, will be operated for visiting Shri Kartik Swami, Badrinath, and Kedarnath. The 'Ganga-Yamuna Express' is designed to introduce tourists to the sacred Ganga and Yamuna river routes, including the Mahasu Devta Temple in Hanol, Jaunsar Bawar region. Both initiatives are expected to generate employment opportunities for local youth, hotels, homestays, transportation operators, and cultural groups.
