the Odisha rail tragedy in June 2023, India has experienced numerous derailments and three passenger train accidents in the past six weeks, resulting in 17 fatalities. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav announced that Rs 1.08 lakh crore from the 2024-25 budget will be allocated to enhance safety systems, including track upgrades, improved signaling, flyovers, underpasses, and the Kavach anti-collision system. However, experts like former Railway Board chairman Ashwani Lohani and former Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers officer Swapnil Garg emphasize the need for a comprehensive approach to safety, addressing systemic issues and fostering a more safety-conscious culture. Sudhanshu Mani, the architect of the Vande Bharat project, stresses the importance of utilizing budgetary allocations to prioritize safety improvements and achieving a zero-fatality goal.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav ne announce kiya ki 2024-25 ke budget mein se Rs 1.08 lakh crore track upgrades, improved signaling, flyovers, underpasses, aur Kavach anti-collision system jaise safety systems ko behtar banane ke liye use kiya jaayega. Lekin, experts jaise ki former Railway Board chairman Ashwani Lohani aur former Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers officer Swapnil Garg, safety ke liye ek comprehensive approach ki jarurat pe zor dete hain, jismein systemic issues ko address karna aur safety-conscious culture ko promote karna shamil hai.
