While the railway board chairman acknowledges the need for more general coaches, they have reduced their number in other trains to increase revenue, focusing on AC, third AC economy class, and sleeper coaches instead. This has resulted in passengers travelling in toilets due to overcrowding. The railway claims that general coaches are being increased based on demand, but no official rule mandates a minimum number of general coaches per train.

aur AC coaches mein bina ticket ke travel kar rahe hain. Jhansi Division mein, April 1st se July 15th tak, 1.96 lakh passengers bina ticket ke pakde gaye aur unse 13.92 crore ka fine vasoola gaya. Railway board chairman ne kaha ki general coaches badhaye ja rahe hain, lekin unhone yeh bhi kaha ki railway AC, third AC economy class, aur sleeper coaches mein zyada dhyan de rahi hai, jisse general coaches kam ho gaye hain aur railway ki kamai badh gayi hai. Is se passengers toilets mein travel karne ko majbur ho rahe hain. Railway ka kehna hai ki general coaches demand ke hisaab se badhaye ja rahe hain, lekin koi bhi official rule nahin hai jiske hisaab se har train mein minimum 6 general coaches hon.
