Rain continues in Gujarat’s Dwarka, Junagadh for third consecutive day, train services hit

Heavy rain continued to batter parts of Gujarat, particularly coastal Devbhumi Dwarka, Porbandar, and Junagadh districts, for the third consecutive day on Saturday. The taluka of Dwarka recorded a massive 21 inches of rain in 34 hours, while Junagadh, Vanthali, and Mendarda talukas received heavy rainfall as well. Porbandar saw an additional three inches of rain on Saturday. Amidst the heavy rains, Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya visited his constituency to assess the situation and coordinate relief efforts. In Junagadh, 39 villages remained cut off for the third consecutive day due to flooding and road closures. Relief efforts were underway with 10 teams of NDRF deployed in the affected districts. The rains also caused 16 reservoirs to overflow, leading to an alert being issued for 36 reservoirs and 25 dams, including Sardar Sarovar dam, which are filled up to 50 to 70 per cent of their capacity.

Porbandar mein Saturday ko 3 inch aur barish hui. Is heavy rain ke beech, Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya apne constituency mein situation assess karne aur relief efforts coordinate karne gaye. Junagadh mein 39 gaon teesre din bhi flood aur road closure ki wajah se cut off rahe. Affected districts mein 10 teams of NDRF deploy ki gayi hain aur rescue and relief operation chal rahe hain. Is baarish se 16 reservoirs overflow ho gaye hain, aur 36 reservoirs aur 25 dams, including Sardar Sarovar dam, jismein 50 se 70 percent pani bhara hai, unke liye alert issue kiya gaya hai.
