Madurai and Coimbatore metro projects. The team visited Ukkadam in Coimbatore to assess the proposed site. The Tamil Nadu government submitted the metro rail plan to the Union government in March, seeking international funding. The CMRL is expected to submit a detailed project report (DPR) to the State government by the end of July for an elevated metro rail project along Sathyamangalam Road and Avinashi Road in Coimbatore. The project is planned to have 32 stations across 39 km along the two routes.
