to prevent accidents. The PIL, filed by Yatin Jadhav, highlighted 2,590 commuter deaths in 2023, with the Central Railway reporting 1,650 fatalities and the Western Railway 940. While the Western Railway claimed to be implementing measures like barricades and foot-over-bridges, the court questioned the effectiveness of these actions. The court emphasized the need for solutions beyond increasing train frequency or capacity, emphasizing the need for a change in mindset and accountability from the highest-level railway officers.

liye accountable banaya. Court ne Railways ko affidavits file karne ka order diya jismein accidents ko rokne ke liye liye jaane waale measures ka detail ho. Yatin Jadhav ne yeh PIL file ki thi jismein 2023 mein 2,590 commuters ki jaan jaane ki baat thi, jismein Central Railway pe 1,650 aur Western Railway pe 940 logon ki jaan gayi. Western Railway ne claim kiya ki woh barricades aur foot-over-bridges jaise measures laga rahe hain, lekin court ne unse yeh puchha ki kya yeh measures kaam kar rahe hain. Court ne yeh bhi kaha ki trains ki frequency aur capacity badhaane ke alawa bhi solution dhundna jaruri hai, aur yeh bhi kaha ki railway officers ko apna mindset change karna hoga aur unko accountability lena hoga.
