The central government has pledged to connect all towns with a population of over one lakh in Telangana, but this plan remains in its planning stage. Despite an increase in the number of Final Location Surveys (FLS) projects approved since Telangana became a separate state, funding allocated to these projects remains inadequate compared to the state's needs. The central government recently approved two multi-tracking railway projects in Telangana at a cost of Rs. 9,000 crore. These projects, along with others, require final surveys and comprehensive project reports before receiving funding in the central budget. The proposed Regional Ring Rail Line, intended to complement the Regional Ring Road, has been allocated Rs. 14 crore for the final survey, but the survey hasn't begun yet.
