The trains have also proven to be popular with senior citizens, with 15.7% of passengers on the Kerala route being above the age of 60. The Vande Bharat Express trains are semi-high-speed trains with a maximum speed of 160 km/h and an average speed of 130 km/h. Currently, there are 60 services running across the country, with plans to introduce 400 more in the next three years, including sleeper trains for night travel. The trains have already completed 18,423 trips covering a total distance of 1,24,87,540 km, equivalent to 310 times the Earth's circumference.
