more... on February 8th, 2023, marked the first time a portion of a Delhi Metro station had collapsed. The incident led to a safety audit of all metro lines by the DMRC managing director. The investigation revealed that the concrete wall at Gokalpuri was built on top of a drainage system without adequate support beams, causing the wall to crumble under its own weight. As a preventative measure, DMRC is replacing the concrete railings on 17 elevated stations between Mayur Vihar Phase 1 and Shiv Vihar with steel railings.
