The line will have 23 stations, including Hinjewadi, Wipro Chowk, Balewadi Stadium, and Shivajinagar Court, and will connect with existing lines 1 and 2 at Shivajinagar. The project is a public-private partnership with Tata Group and Siemens executing it. A dedicated depot has been built in Hinjewadi for maintenance and operations.
