Land acquisition for this project was completed across 14 villages in Uttar Pradesh and 11 villages in Uttarakhand, spanning 87 hectares and 50 hectares respectively. This railway line will cut down the distance between Delhi and Roorkee by 33 km, as it will bypass the existing route via Tapri, enabling a direct connection between Roorkee and Deoband. The direct route is expected to significantly improve travel efficiency by reducing the number of curves and allowing trains to maintain higher speeds.
