The project, initially planned for December 2022, was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and issues with railway break-down availability. The new railway line will feature a shopping complex above the station, parking facilities for buses, autos, and taxis, entertainment options, restaurants, hotels, and cafes. The project cost has increased from 52 crores to 100 crores. The railway line is expected to be a significant turning point for Nava Raipur's development, connecting it to major cities like Bilaspur, Raipur, Durg, and Bhilai. The first station in Nava Raipur will be at Atal Nagar, located about 2 km from Mandir Hasaud.
