Chennai Metro: Construction Commences on OMR IT Corridor

Chennai's metro expansion is progressing, with construction underway for 10 elevated stations between Taramani and Sholinganallur on the OMR IT corridor. and 65 out of 450 girders already completed. Land acquisition is in progress for station entry and exit points. The Taramani to Sholinganallur stretch is expected to be operational by next year, forming part of the 45.4-kilometer Corridor-3. Construction of the stations is planned to begin in June, before the monsoon season, and 136 of the 450 'U' girders have already been cast.
