The Pilibhit-Mailani railway line was shut down for a mega block on May 30, 2018, to convert the meter gauge track to broad gauge. The line, which passes through a forest, faced various delays due to the forest department’s NOC and other obstacles. In November 2023, train operations started from Mailani to Shahgarh. Work on the railway track between Shahgarh and Pilibhit was then expedited. After completion, the track was inspected by the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) on April 31. Goods trains were run as a trial run, and the Indian Railways officially launched train operations on the Pilibhit-Mailani line with the Lal Kuan-Howrah Summer Special train. The train arrived at the station at 4:56 PM on Thursday, bringing smiles to the faces of the people. The train arrived an hour late on its first day.

Shahgarh se Pilibhit ke beech railway track banne ka kaam tez gati se kiya gaya. Kaam pura hone ke baad, 31 April ko, is railway line ka CRS inspection kiya gaya. Trial ke tor pe, maalgadiyan chalai gayi. Indian Railways ne Lal Kuan-Howrah Summer Special train se, Pilibhit-Mailani railway line pe train chalna shuru kar diya. Thursday ko, sham 4:56 PM pe train station pe pohochne pe, logo ke chehre khil gaye. Pehle din, train ek ghanta late aayi.
