Trial run of Kerala’s first double-decker train held

On Wednesday, a trial run of the double-decker coaches for the Coimbatore-Bengaluru Uday Express took place on the Pollachi-Palakkad route in Kerala. Junction at 11:05 am, then continued to Palakkad Town Railway Station at 11:25 am. In the return journey, the train reached Palakkad Junction at 11:50 am, left for Coimbatore at 12 pm, and arrived back at Coimbatore at 2:30 pm. The train consisted of four coaches, including two double-decker AC coaches. The launch of the Bengaluru-Coimbatore Uday Double-Decker Superfast Train is expected to alleviate train shortages on the electrified route and provide another Bengaluru service from Kerala. The official train timings are yet to be confirmed.
