Freight Corridor (EDFC) from Ludhiana to Sonnagar, which is fully operational, and the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC) from JNPT to Dadri, with 88% operational. Vinsum Axpress, a logistics company, has reported significant cost savings by using the DFCCIL's truck-on-train (ToT) service for transporting automotive parts between New Rewari and Palanpur. The corridor is currently running at 63% capacity, with 300-320 trains operating daily, and aims to reach its optimum capacity of 480 trains per day. The DFCCIL is also using modified general sleeper (NMGS) wagons, previously used in passenger trains, for parcel services. Environmental assessments indicate that the dedicated freight corridor can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 457 million tonnes over the next 30 years.
